Interesting facts about banglore & mysoore
Bangalore and Mysore are two cities in the southern state of Karnataka in India. Both cities have a long and fascinating history, providing an interesting look into the culture, art, and monuments of India. Some of the most interesting facts about Bangalore and Mysore are their development, culture, and cuisine.
Bangalore is known for its modern development and is one of the most developed cities in India. It is the capital of Karnataka, is home to many IT companies, and is known as the Silicon Valley of India. However, it was formerly known as the Garden City of India, as the city was understood to be the cleanest and greenest in the country. Bangalore's development is attributed to its long history of rulers, beginning with the Mysore Wodeyars and followed by the British. The city's architecture reflects the influence of its rulers, from the English-style churches to the Mysore-style palaces.
Mysore is an old city with a rich heritage and culture. The city was formerly known as the capital of the Mysore Wodeyar dynasty and was home to many forts, palaces, and temples built by the rulers. Mysore was known for its prosperous silk and sandalwood trade and the high quality of the products produced there. It is still home to many temples and other buildings constructed by the Wodeyars and has some iconic buildings like the Mysore Palace and the Mysore Zoo. Mysore even celebrated 25 years as a deemed Heritage City in 2020. The city is also known for its vibrant art and culture, with numerous festivals, classical and folk dances, and music performances held annually.
Both Bangalore and Mysore are well-known for their cuisine. The city of Bangalore is known to be the birthplace of the famous south Indian dish idli. Idli is a savory steamed cake made up of fermented rice and lentils and is served with a condiment called sambar. Mysore also has its own unique cuisine, with dishes like Mysore Pak and Mysore Masala Dosa served in households and restaurants alike.
