The historic Indian cities of Udaipur, Jaipur and Jodhpur are known as the “pink cities”, attracting millions of visitors each year with their ancient charm and vibrant colours. Udaipur is the capital of Rajasthan, renowned for its shimmering lakes, historic forts, and palaces. Jaipur, the capital of the state of Rajasthan, is known as the “Pink City” due to its iconic pink buildings, which reflect the culture and architecture of the city. Lastly, Jodhpur, located in the northwest of Rajasthan, is popularly known as the “Blue City” due to its painted blue terra-cotta walls and buildings. All three cities have something special to offer and are passionate destinations to visit.

Udaipur is an incredible historical experience that is well known for its majestic charm and rich cultural heritage. The City of Lakes, Udaipur is a vibrant city situated in the lap of the Aravalli Mountains. Udaipur is the home to marvelous monuments such as the City Palace, which is a majestic palace complex with sections from different eras, combinations of Islamic and Rajput styles. In comparison to Udaipur, Jaipur is a bustling city that is renowned for its typical Rajasthani culture, temples, palaces and the grandeur of its Pink City walls. The City Palace is its biggest landmark, built in 1727 and a combination of Rajput, Mughal and European architectural influences. Hawa Mahal is another majestic structure, built with the fusion of Mughal and Rajput style, and its most mesmerising feature is its small windows and intricate carvings. Other important religious sites in Jaipur are the BirlaMandir, GaltajiTemple, and the imposing Jantar Mantar astronomical observatory.

Finally, Jodhpur is the second most populated city in the state of Rajasthan and is known as the ‘Blue City’ because of the vibrant blue walls and buildings. It houses one of the most imposing forts of the area- Mehrangarh Fort, stands majestically on a hilltop, and spectacularly captures the entire city in its shadow. Inside the fort, there is a museum that exhibits the Royal belongings of the former Maharajas, such as paintings, arms, furniture, and jewelry. The nearby Jaswant Thada, an elegant white marble memorial, is another popular tourist attraction.
